Students of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Noforija, Epe, Lagos State, Nigeria, came second at the French International Competition held at the Centre for French Training and Documentation tagged: "La Semaine de la Francophone" to mark the world "Francophone" week.
The 20th of March every year is being celebrated throughout the world in countries where French is spoken as "Journee de La francophonie"." La Francophonie" is the French version of the English" common wealth"
In commemoration of the day, Alliance Francaise, lbadan in collaboration with CFTD organised a week programme of event from Monday 18th March to Friday 22nd March 2019.
The competition for Colleges of Education was held on Friday, 22nd March, 2019 and divided into Quiz and Debate Competition. MOCPED came second in the debate category.
The Provost of the College, Dr Nosiru Olajide Onibon while congratulating the college on the laudable achievement, attributed the success to hard work and dedication on the part of both the lecturers and the students of the college.
The college has witnessed tremendous improvement in the last one year and the performance at the competition shows that MOCPED students are really achieving in their academic pursuit.
He therefore implores them to continue with the spirit of academic excellence.
Dr Onibon said that he is currently enjoying the dedication, faithfulness and hard work of all members of staff resulting in the development of the college both physical and academical.
The Provost then enjoined staff and students to continue to work hard to sustain the good work in order to continue to take the college to a higher height.
